VERSAMOD is a liquid rheology modifier used in VERSADRIL and VERSACLEAN oil-base mud systems. It enhances low-shear-rate viscosities and gel strengths, improving hole cleaning. It is primarily applied in large-diameter, high-angle, horizontal, and extended-reach wells to increase the ability to carry cuttings, allowing for faster drilling rates while maintaining wellbore stability. When used at the right concentrations, VERSAMOD produces the desired shear-thinning rheological profile found in VERSAPORT oil mud systems.
